Review Game Implementation
The team discussed the current implementation of the game. The discussion covered aspects such as combat turn and phases, GUI elements, in-game screens, and 3D models. Below is a summary:
• Stage selection not fully implemented yet • Player was able to kill the AI rather quickly; some adjustments to abilities of the characters and the HP of the AI had to be made • Issues were faced when exporting out the models from Maya; a work-around was needed to export and import smooth and appropriately textured meshes of the models into Unity
Review Game Bugs
The game development stalled a bit as the game had several issues:
• Victory and death screens are not triggered correctly • Game fails to continue when the AI attacks • Game failed to trigger the AR configuration of the camera, so no game elements showed up on the screen • The 3D models did not appear on screen as it was on the wrong layer in Unity
Meet With Supervisor
The team showed the Supervisor what the team has done for the past 2-3 weeks, and updated him on the progress of the game development. In addition, the team also shared with the Supervisor what the Assessor commented during the mid-point review.
To-Do List
• Update the 3D models of the characters • Implement the various animations of the models into the game • Update the GUI elements • Fix and update the various game screens • Implement in-game Pause menu • Implement Options menu • Implement the particle effects • Research on sources for SFX and BGM
