Refine Game Concept

- Turn-based combat system - Single player VS game AI - Identifying cards needed for the game: a multifunctional card – its function is dependent on where the card is placed on the play mat - There are to be 3 elements: Fire, Water and Earth - There are to be 3 stages, to match the number of elements in the game - The player character will be able to mix and match the looks and elemental types of body parts to form a creature - The boss of each stage is the complete elemental version of each character - Player’s turn ends after the player character battles with the AI character

Brainstorm Company Name And Title

Company: ARTria games

AR is Augmented Reality, Tria is ‘3’ in Greek – represents 3 members of the team and also the core game mechanism of 3 cards combining into 1 mix matched creature.

Game Title: Plushvale The game is to appeal for kids of ages 8-12. It has to be attractive, colourful and each creature should be unique on its own and leave a lasting impression. Generally, the creatures will look like a plush toy, thus the name Plushvale.

Discuss And Write Game Proposal

Different sections are assigned to individual members to fill the sections with concrete contents. Constance, the Lead Documenter will review the game proposal as a whole and modify where applicable. The team discussed the proposal content and what is to be written in each section.

Market Analysis The team will discuss about the target market for the game, who the top performers of the same game genre are, and a feature-by-feature comparison of the existing games that are similar and what can be done to make our game unique from them.

Technical Analysis The team will lay out the experimental features that the game will have, and discuss the major development tasks for the game project. The team will also list out risks and alternatives, estimated resources that developing the game will incur, and write out the estimated schedule for the development of the game project.

Legal Analysis The team will discuss the legal repercussions of developing the game, if any.

Cost and Revenue Projections The team will list out the various costs incurred from developing the game, and discuss the projected revenue if the game is to be sold at a suggested retail price.

Concept Art The team will lay the various designs involved in the game, including card layouts, playmat layout, HUD design, and the art styles of the various characters in the game.

To-Do List • Research more on possible game mechanisms for the card game – elements? What else can the game do?

• How will each turn play out: play card, battle, end?• Brainstorm possible character ideas and their attributes

• Experiment with Unity3D and ARToolkit individually – develop a test program to learn how the ARToolkit works. A simple test program where it detects the marker and displays a 3D object on it.
